A long-pile faux-fur car bed shaped like an armchair: a tall back that rests against the seat back, low rounded bolsters around the front and sides, and a sunken cushion in the middle. Your dog settles into the hollow and leans on the back instead of bracing against nothing.

The problem

A back seat is a bad place for a dog

It slopes, it is slippery, and there is a gap between the bench and the front seats that a dog slides straight into when you brake. A blanket solves none of that — it moves with the dog.

The fix

Walls to lean on, straps that hold

Raised sides give your dog something to brace against instead of open space. Straps anchor the whole thing to the headrest and the seat back, so it stays where you put it. A harness tether clips in so your dog stays on it.

The cover comes off

Road salt does not brush out of upholstery — it dries into the fabric and stays. Here it lands on a cover that unzips and goes in the machine on cold. The underside is waterproof, so what soaks through stops before the seat.

Against what most people use

  • A folded blanket

    Slides with the dog. Bunches up at the first corner. Covers the cushion, not the gap. Comes out of the wash a different shape.

  • A Nordpaw bed

    Strapped to the headrest and seat back. Raised sides your dog can brace against. Fills the footwell gap. Removable cover, machine washable cold.

Will it fit my car?

Measure the width of your back bench between the door panels and compare it with the dimensions on this page. The car beds sit on one seat of a standard bench; the full protector spans the whole bench and straps to all four headrests.

What size does my dog need?

Measure nose to tail base and weigh your dog. Both figures are listed per size above. Between two sizes, take the larger — a dog that cannot turn around will not settle.

Can I wash it?

Yes. The cover unzips and goes in on a cold cycle. Air dry it — a hot dryer damages the faux fur and the foam.

Does it stop my dog sliding when I brake?

The raised sides and the harness tether keep your dog on the bed rather than in the footwell. This is not a crash-tested restraint and we do not sell it as one — for crash protection you need a certified travel crate or a tested harness.

How long will delivery take?
